Elizabeth Mary Durrant, 88, of Ogdensburg.
Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister Elizabeth Mary Durrant passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Michaels Hospital, Stevens Point.
Elizabeth “Betty” was born September 2, 1933 in Fremont, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Paul and Eleanor (Wideman) Tews. Elizabeth married Edmund Allen “Ed” Durrant on October 19, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland; he preceded her in death January 26, 2003.
The couple had 7 children: Robyn Novak (Jerry), Pamela Wilcox, Edmund Jr. (Cindy), Jon (Linda), Paul (Paula), Patrick, and Amy Saeger. Elizabeth and Ed were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by her sisters Eleanor Highlander, Patsy Nagy, Kathy Brogaard, and brother David Tews.
The family is especially grateful for the devotion and loving care given to betty by her friend and caregiver Diane Ayers – extending her life and making it possible for her to remain at home during her last years with her little dog Sam.
The family is planning a gathering at home in the near future to celebrate Betty’s life.
Betty loved cooking, and caring for her children and grandchildren, as well as elderly neighbors. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and especially proud of her flower beds. There must be a thousand ways to say “lovely” and Betty was all of them.
