A Moment in Time

Dear Reader,

Recently, my brother and I visited Mackinac Island which lies off the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. One evening we happened to be walking on the boardwalk along the water and a mist floated in.

If you could imagine a moment when you felt you were gliding into another universe of dreams and fantasies, this was it. We quietly strolled along on this seemingly surreal journey watching with wonder, the clouds and light and muted houses. Then, poof. It was over.

So much for this enchanting world that briefly beckoned and then disappeared. Like many of those good things in life that are transient, we need to appreciate them when they come before … and before they vanish.
