Waupaca County sheriff’s report Aug. 28

• Aug. 22 – ThedaCare reported that a man contacted their call center and went off on a foul-mouthed rant about coming there and killing people.

• Aug. 22 – A Waupaca woman on High Point Ridge reported while she was playing music, she heard a banging sound and found the screen door bent open. She thought she saw someone.

• Aug. 23 – A Waupaca woman on Pryse Drive reported a man rifled through her car and stole her backpack.

• Aug. 23 – Sunset BP of Weyauwega reported someone dumped garbage in their dumpster and they have video of the act.

• Aug. 23 – A New London man on Huntley Road reported he got a call from a person in California who stated there was a judgment against him and he needed to get some paperwork from the sheriff’s department or they would collect payment from him.

• Aug. 23 – A Waupaca caller on Indian Valley Road reported that a man and girl were dropped off for a tubing trip going from Rural to Parfreyville and haven’t yet returned.

• Aug. 23 – A Weyauwega caller on State Highway 49 reported her adult son was missing.

• Aug. 24 – A Waupaca caller on Dayton Road reported he had $700 in coins and cash taken from his bedroom. Nothing else was taken.

• Aug. 24 – A caller who delivers Meals on Wheels reported no one answered the door during her stop yet two cars were parked in the driveway.

• Aug. 24 – A Waupaca caller on Jensen Road reported that a man he has a restraining order against was taking care of his stepfather’s property and building fences. He considered this harassment.

• Aug. 24 – A Weyauwega man on Main Street reported that a juvenile was hitting people, punched his wife in the face, was breaking items and trying to hurt animals.
• Aug. 24 – An Embarrass caller on Elm Street reported her brother’s ex-girlfriend stated she would have her brother come and harm her.

• Aug. 24 – A New London caller on Depot Street reported a drunken man wandering around and screaming at himself as he walked down the road. She also heard smashing sounds.

• Aug. 25 – A Manawa caller on Green Valley Road reported that a babysitter and the caller’s children were walking along and the neighbor with special needs tried to expose himself to the children.

• Aug. 25 – An Embarrass caller on Elm Street reported that a woman she previously reported for threatening calls is now threatening to burn down her house.

• Aug. 25 – A Clintonville caller reported there were Amish children driving pony carts on Stony Hill Road and sometimes they veered to the middle of the road.

• Aug. 25 – A Marion caller reported finding an Amish buggy in the ditch and no people or horses were around.

• Aug. 25 – A Marion caller on Begrow Road requested a check on an Amish neighbor’s calf that was in the ditch.

• Aug. 25 – A New London caller on Oakwood Pass reported receiving a threatening text message from a fellow church member.

• Aug. 25 – An Iola caller reported a suspicious man sitting in a small vehicle in the roadway for several hours. He looked disoriented.

• Aug. 25 – A woman reported the death of her ex-husband. He lived by himself, was getting dehydrated and not himself for the past few days. He was not answering calls, emails or text messages.

• Aug. 25 – A Weyauwega caller on Springer Road reported odd vehicles going up and down the road and he suspected drug activity.

• Aug. 25 – A Waupaca caller on Pine Lane reported suspicious vehicles keep stopping in front of her house.

• Aug. 26 – ThedaCare reported a man with declining mental health who quit taking his diabetes medication. The man left a message stating, “He is done,” and “Rather the diabetes just kill me.”

•Aug. 26 – A cellphone caller provided an address to a place where her ex-boyfriend goes to buy methamphetamine.

• Aug. 26 – A Weyauwega caller on Buchholz Road reported a man was driving too fast in a golf cart. When reminded of the 5 mph speed limit, the man swore at him. He believed the man was drinking.

• Aug. 26 – A Waupaca man on Birch Lane reported a car alarm going off for an hour in his elderly neighbor’s garage. She lives alone and wasn’t answering her calls.

• Aug. 26 – A New London caller on Huntley Road reported his mailbox was smashed.

• Aug. 27 – A female caller reported her father was almost scammed out of $40,000.

• Aug. 27 – A male caller reported hitting a gas line while digging.

• Aug. 27 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a resident was aggressive to another resident and staffer.

• Aug. 27 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home reported a resident was smoking marijuana.

• Aug. 27 – A New London woman on State Highway 45 reported an overdose. The person was still breathing but not responding. A needle was found.

• Aug. 27 – Marion Police Department called about assisting the Clintonville Police Department. An officer was struck in the head twice by a subject. The subject was tazed twice and was now in custody.

• Aug. 27 – Wolf River Campground in New London reported trespassing. Seven vehicles were parked near there and having a party.

• Aug. 27 – A Big Falls caller on Center Street reported the theft of three cameras and recorded the theft on camera.

• Aug. 28 – A caller reported that she lost a kayak valued at $2,500 when it came off a trailer.

• Aug. 28 – A Weyauwega man on Railroad Grade Road reported finding his neighbor dead on the ground. He stated that the food left in the oven was pretty charred.

• During this period, there were numerous deer-auto collisions and a few reports of controlled burns. The sheriff’s water patrol issued a slow/no-wake violation. There were an abnormally high number of disabled vehicles on the county’s roadways. There were reports of four dog bites, a cow loose on Country Trunk X and escaped chickens tearing into a neighbor’s garden in Manawa.
