Mark C. Hanson passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home.
He was born August 8, 1952 in Appleton, WI; son of Erwin and Dorothy (Rohloff) Hanson. Mark grew up on the family farm on Railroad Grade Road in Weyauwega, WI. He graduated from high school in 1970 from Fox Valley Lutheran in Appleton. After high school, he started his life long career working in concrete construction. He owned and operated Hanson Concrete Construction and was a partner in M & M Construction. He ended his working years assisting Star Dairy. Mark loved the small town of Weyauwega and would help anyone if he had the means and opportunity to do so. He will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and many friends.
Mark is survived by his only son Eric (Holly M.) Hanson and his grandchildren Aiden, Ella, and Alayna; nieces and nephews Tracy (Ray) Borntrager, Travis (Kristy) Hanson, and Holly R. (Steve) Hanson. He is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews Wyatt, Marissa, Amanda, Josh, Jenna, Jessica, and Jared.
He was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Dorothy Hanson; his step-mother Angela Hanson; a brother Larry Hanson; a sister-in-law Mary Hanson; and a nephew Troy Hanson.
Mark enjoyed buying rounds of drinks for his friends so in continuation of that tradition, Mark would like to buy one last round at the Chimney Inn, N1298 County Road X, Weyauwega, on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will follow on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Hanson Family Farm (Holly and Troy’s Shop), E4783 Railroad Grade Road, Weyauwega. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Mark’s name to Ruby’s Pantry of Waupaca and/or Foundations for Living of Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
