It’s nearly time for the potato harvest, and the Waupaca Historical Society and Waupaca Area Public Library are marking the time with a Potato Day program at the Depot.
Potato Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the historic Waupaca Depot at 525 Oak St.

The program will include a weigh-in and contest for participants, potato-themed activities, and tours of the depot.

Nearly 100 people received a free grow bag and seed potatoes in April at an event at the Hutchinson House Museum. Participants are now encouraged to bring their grow bags for the potato harvest event.

At the depot, they can weigh their potatoes and enter to win a variety of prizes. An awards ceremony will take place 1:30 p.m.

This program is made possible by Turners Fresh Market and Silver Mist Garden Center.
