An Open Letter to Mackenzie Scott

Dear Ms. Scott,

Recently we read about your philanthropic efforts in Fortune magazine and noticed that you launched a $1.8 billion fund to combat homelessness. Our company (Multi Media Channels LLC, the owner of this newspaper and website) considers eradicating homelessness in Wisconsin an important part of our mission. We are pursuing our goal by bringing media, business, politicians and caregivers together to address this complex problem affecting so many people’s lives. We believe that in partnership with 501(c)(3)s and other media organizations we can and will achieve our goal.

We are leading a public/private/non-profit coalition that will alleviate the plight and suffering of the unhoused, with a goal of providing housing to all who need it. We have been at this for the past four years and have partnered with

• the Wisconsin Newspaper Association to generate multiple media awareness campaigns to help free up government funds;

• St. Vincent de Paul Society to issue “Badgerpacks,” knapsacks filled with necessities for people who are unhoused; and

• Newcap Advocacy and Crisis Intervention to initiate the “Fresh Start Program”, which puts a person up in a hotel the night before a job interview.

We ask your support for this pilgrimage. Please contact me if you are willing to partner with us on this humanitarian mission. You can reach me at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
