By Greg Seubert

A North Eastern Conference boys’ soccer matchup between Waupaca and Clintonville has been put on hold.

Clintonville was originally scheduled to host the Comets Sept. 12, but the game ended up getting postponed due to the weather.

A rescheduled date has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Clintonville handed Peshtigo an 8-0 defeat and dropped a North Eastern game to Fox Valley Lutheran, while Waupaca split a pair of recent nonconference games with Pulaski and Ashwaubenon.

Clintonville 8, Peshtigo 0

Clintonville improved to 6-1 on the season Sept. 9 with a nonconference win over the Bulldogs.

Pulaski 5, Waupaca 3

Pulaski outscored the Comets 3-1 in the first half Sept. 8 before both teams scored a pair of goals in the second half.

Goals from Ryan Drafz and Austin Decker gave Pulaski an early lead. Michael Wennesberg scored off of Ryan Mace’s assist at the 17-minute mark to cut the lead in half.

Corbin Tackmier gave Pulaski a two-goal lead midway through the first half.

Brandon Young scored Waupaca’s second goal in the second half before Drafz and Decker added their second goals.

Wennesberg scored Waupaca’s final goal.

Zack Mondello had six saves in goal for Waupaca.

Waupaca 2, Ashwaubenon 1

Hesslin Trzebiatowski’s goal off of Mace’s assist six minutes into the second half broke a 1-1 tie Sept. 6.

Ashwaubenon took a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the game on Alex Slusarek’s goal.

Waupaca tied the game in the 11th minute on Liam Bloedow’s goal off of an assist from Wennesberg.

Waupaca outshot the Jaguars 13-7.

FVL 3, Clintonville 0

The Foxes handed the Truckers their first loss of the season Sept. 6, as Lincoln Fleming, Reed Curtis and Mason Londre scored for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Waupaca and Clintonville have games scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5. The Comets will host Wrightstown for a North Eastern contest at 6:30 p.m. at Comet Field, while the Truckers will head to Fond du Lac for a 7 p.m. nonconference matchup with Winnebago Lutheran.
