Chain O’ Lakes hosts Blues Fest

Weekend event starts Oct. 7

The Chain O’ Lakes Blues Fest will return to the ICC Waterfront Bar and Restaurant Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8.

This year’s lineup on Friday features the Blues Disciples at 7 p.m. and The Jimmy’s at 9 p.m.

On Saturday, Jonny T-Birds and the MPs take the stage at 3 p.m., Mama Ginger and the Red Hots perform at 5 p.m.. Jay Stulo and the Mighty Aces, featuring Doug Kroening, play at 7 p.m., and Joanna Connor closes the festival at 9 p.m.

ICC, also known as Indian Crossing Casino, is a historic dance hall rather than a gambling facility.

Built on the Chain in 1925, the ICC hosted some of the most popular entertainers of the 1930s through ‘60s.

Performers at the ICC during its heyday included Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Dorsey, Les Brown, Beach Boys, Everly Brothers, Woody Herman, Neil Young, Bobby Vinton, Herman’s Hermits and Ricky Nelson.

Tickets for Friday night are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Tickets for Saturday are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

A weekend pass is $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

Individuals under 21 years of age will not be admitted to the festival.

The ICC is located at E1171 County Trunk Q, west of Waupaca.
