ite work and wall footings were completed last week for a 32,000-square-foot expansion at Titan Conveyors in New London.

The company broke ground for its new addition on July 19.

The new structure will expand Titan’s current production, assembly and shipping areas at 735 Industrial Loop Road.

The firm will also add to its current workforce of 42 employees.

Titan Chairman and co-owner Dan Baumbach said the expansion is the largest in the company’s 40-plus year history in New London.

“We are in a growing business, in a growing industry,” said Baumbach as he addressed community leaders and employees at a groundbreaking celebration.

He said Titan has experienced “explosive demand”, even during the pandemic.

“As you know, we are in the business of designing and manufacturing conveyors used primarily by manufacturers and distributors of goods. From the 40,000-foot level, we’re really in the business of automation,” Baumbach said.

Automation is a growth industry.

“We’re in the business of helping people automate and drive productivity. That’s why we’re feeling very bullish about making this investment,” he said.

“Without you, none of this would be happening,” Baumbach told employees.

“We make a quality product that people appreciate, people want and they come back for. Our reputation in the marketplace is very, very good,” Baumbach said. “I very much appreciate all of your contributions.”

Senior Vice President and General Manager Vincenzo Speziale said, “We have been successful at onboarding great talent and we are looking to continue to build a strong team at Titan.”

Candidates can apply online or in person.

Speziale said the company plans to occupy its new addition by early next year.

He said there’s also space to add an additional 32,000 square feet in the future.
