Felony charges filed following Clintonville incident

Waupaca County Judge Troy Nielsen issued a warrant Wednesday, Sept. 21, for the arrest of Seth A. Genereau, 23, New London.

Genereau is charged with robbery with use of force, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, physical abuse of an elderly person and theft. He faces enhanced sentencing because the victim is elderly.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, an 81-year-old man was in his minivan at the Northside Plaza Citgo on State Highway 22 in Clintonville.

An unknown man approached the driver and said there was something wrong with the back of his minivan.

After the driver exited his vehicle and walked around to the back to check on the supposed problem, the man jumped into the driver’s seat.

The elderly man attempted to pull the stranger out of his vehicle, but he was knocked down to the ground and the stranger drove away.

The elderly man suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.

Police located a 1965 red Ford pickup in the Northside Plaza parking lot. The pickup was reported stolen out of Hortonville.

The stolen minivan is a 2020 black Pacifica Chrysler with a Michigan license plate of DWF1599.

Clintonville police identified the suspect as Genereau and are asking the public for information that could lead to his arrest by calling 715-823-3117.
