Warhawks win volleyball matches


Wega-Fremont tops New London, Iola-Scandy

New London had the home court advantage, but Weyauwega-Fremont got the win.
The Warhawks dropped the first set of a volleyball match Sept. 26 at New London High School, but won the next three games to pick up a nonconference win over the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, Weyauwega-Fremont picked up a five-set Central Wisconsin Conference-East win over Iola-Scandinavia the following day.

New London opened the match with a 25-20 win, but the Bulldogs responded with 25-14 and 25-22 before sealing the match with a 25-18 victory.

The Thunderbirds put the Warhawks in an 0-2 hole after winning the first two sets, 27-25 and 25-23.
Weyauwega-Fremont forced a fifth set with 25-23 and 25-10 wins before wrapping up the match with a 15-11 win.
The Warhawks will head to Keshena Tuesday, Oct. 4, for a CWC-East matchup with Menominee Indian before hosting Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11.
