Phillips, Dale

Dale “DP” aka “Uncle Whitey” M. Phillips, age 89 of Fremont, passed away at his home Monday evening October 3, 2022.

Dale was born in Clintonville on January 14, 1933 as the son of the late Myron and Julia (Carpenter) Phillips. Dale grew up in the Clintonville area and as a young man started working on the family farm prior to getting a job at the canning factory in town. He then worked for Bergstroms Paper Company and cut and sold Christmas trees; which he said was a “flop”. Dale then went to work for a local lumber company and later was digging sewer holes for $2.05 an hour. From there he drove “pop” truck for Shawano and milk truck prior to his final job as an electrician for the Neenah Foundry; retiring at age 63. After his first marriage ended in divorce, Dale was united in marriage to Joan Van Eperen who preceded him in death. After retirement Dale volunteered with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed mowing his lawn and playing cards; especially cribbage and sheephead. He seemed most a peace while fishing the Wolf River in his backyard with a warm campfire.

Dale is survived by:

3 Step-Children.
