Leroy “PeeWee” Will of Waupaca, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
Leroy was born on May 11, 1931 to Joseph and Helen (Sipple) Will in North Fond du Lac, WI. He grew up in North Fond du Lac and worked as an Engineer on the Soo Line until his retirement at the age of 62. He married Maryann Straub on December 1, 1952. They resided in North Fond du Lac, transferred to Portage, WI for a brief while, and retired to Foxfire Subdivision in Waupaca. Leroy was a veteran of the US Army. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis Club and served as an usher at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan with a passion for golf. He loved golfing, bowling, cards and curling with his buddies.
He is survived by his son: Kevin and daughter-in-law: Mary (Robbins) Will; sister-in-law: Patricia (Roger) Shaw and many nieces and nephews. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann; parents, brothers, Ralph, Jerome and Gilbert, sisters, Lou and Phyllis, brothers-in-law, G. Michael Straub and John Straub.
The Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. The family would like to thank Trista Lind for her compassion and friendship as Leroy’s caregiver.
