Francis “John” Henry Soper was called home on Thursday, October 13th, 2022 at the age of 98.
He was born in Antigo, WI, the son of Eva & Harry Soper. John married Alice Moore on April 2, 1951. Alice preceded him in death on February 27, 2019. John served in the Navy during World War II, was a postman in Milwaukee until his retirement, spending many of those years commuting from Long Lake in Saxeville. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and later in life he enjoyed wintering in Texas, feeding his birds, gardening, listening to country music, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include six children, Rita (Ron) Beck, Saxeville; Dennis Soper, Milwaukee: Debby Tryniszewski, Cudahy; Diane (Tom) Dzibinski, Milwaukee; John (Becky) Soper, Wautoma; and Dawn (Chuck) Fuller, Mukwonago. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and brother Dick (Julie) Soper, Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Alice (Moore); parents Eva and Harry Soper; brothers Tom Soper, Buck Soper, James (Jim) Soper, sister Dorothy Nelson, son-in-law Mike Tryniszewski, and special friend John Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Friday October 28, 2022 at 11 am at the Holly Funeral Home (526 S. Main St, Waupaca, WI) with Deacon Bob Precourt officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 1o am until the time of the service at 11 am at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
