She was born on June 30, 1951 in Chicago, the oldest child of George and Anny (Maalo) Dalland. Peggy shared her childhood in Chicago and Morton Grove with brothers Ivar and Dean and sister June. She attended college at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. There she married and become mother to Kari. Peggy was a Certified Public Accountant and during her career, brought joy to her colleagues in Indiana and Wisconsin.

Peggy moved to Wisconsin in 2008 to spend more time with her family. When Kari married Patrick in 2010, Peggy became grandmother to Will and Ellen. Not long after, she met Phil Zinke at Tractor Sunday at North New Hope Church. Introduced to each other by Peggy’s Aunt Irene and Uncle Leonard, Peggy and Phil dated and then married on June 9, 2012 at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church. They traveled to many beautiful places, often visiting family and friends and other times making new friends. They adopted Odin, who brought them dog happiness every hour of every day.

Peggy enjoyed science fiction, especially involving space travel. At Christmas time, she decorated two trees – one traditional and one with a Star Trek theme. Peggy liked music and art, reading and nature. Peggy was an intelligent and strong woman, a role model for many other women who witnessed her kindness and compassion for people. Most of all, Peggy loved spending time with family and friends, sharing her love of life and love for them. Her smile lit up every room and heart she entered.
