Waupaca girls face Wautoma

The Milwaukee Bucks provide Wisconsin’s high school basketball teams an opportunity to play a game at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Waupaca and Wautoma’s girls’ teams took the Bucks up on the offer and headed to Milwaukee Nov. 23 for a nonconference game.
Wautoma improved to 4-0 with a 61-39 win, while the Comets fell to 0-4.
Waupaca also fell to Fox Valley Lutheran Nov. 22 in the North Eastern Conference opener for both teams.
Wautoma 61, Waupaca 39
The Hornets had the hot hand early and scored 25 points in the game’s first six minutes before Waupaca cut the lead to 39-25 at halftime.
Wautoma scored the first 13 points of the second half to take a 52-25 lead. The Comets answered by scoring the next seven points to cut the lead to 20 points, but never got any closer.
Macie Studzinski scored 11 of her points in the first half to lead the Comets, while Bri Buechner led Wautoma with 23.

Fox Valley Lutheran 57, Waupaca 23
The Comets trailed the Foxes 23-21 at halftime, but came up with only two points in the second half.
Studzinski scored her first points early in the game that tied the contest at 6-6 and ended up scoring the rest of Waupaca’s points to finish with 19.
Emily Jaenke led the Foxes with 18 points on six three-pointers, while Lauren Riesop added 10.
The Comets will head to Denmark Thursday, Dec. 1, for a 7 p.m. North Eastern Conference matchup with the Vikings.
