Iola-Scandinavia girls to host Manawa Dec. 2

Balanced scoring and a big second half added up to a win for the Iola-Scandinavia girls’ basketball team.

The Thunderbirds outscored Wild Rose 33-17 in the second half Nov. 22 and went on to post a 53-35 win over the Wildcats.

Iola-Scandinavia led 20-18 at halftime.

Lillian Fuhs, Elle Charles and Madeline Much led the T-Birds with 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Wild Rose’s Laney Havlovitz led all scores with 18 points before fouling out late in the game.

Iola-Scandinavia improved to 2-1 on the season, while Wild Rose fell to 1-1.

The T-Birds faced Pittsville Nov. 29 and will open Central Wisconsin Conference-East play by hosting Manawa at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.
