LeRoy C. Diestler, age 77 of New London, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, following a two-year battle with ALS.
He was born on March 24, 1945, in Appleton, son of the late Charles and Cecilia (Ellenbecker) Diestler. LeRoy was united in marriage to Judy Prahl on April 29, 1967. Family and friends meant everything to LeRoy. He loved fishing, hunting, watching his grandkids playing sports, and watching birds in his back yard. He worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory for 46 years, until his retirement in 2010.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Judy; children, Teresa (Dean) Brinkman and Mark (Janice) Diestler; grandchildren: Nicholas (Alisha) Pierce, Kyle (Brianna) Pierce, Connor Brinkman, and Jacob Diestler; great-grandchildren Anslee and Layne; siblings, Patsy (Jon) Munoz, Richard (Kathleen) Diestler, Kay Karolus, Kathy Beyersdorf, Ronald Diestler, Charles (Christine) Diestler, and Cindy (Brian) Boutwell. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol (Harold) Howell, a brother Gale Diestler, a brother-in-law Robert Karolus and a sister-in-law Cheryl Diestler.
Funeral services for LeRoy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Emanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18th from 12-4 p.m. and also at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
