Thunderbirds fall to Amherst

Falcons get the win in Iola

The Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team started out strong during its Central Wisconsin Conference-East game against Amherst.

However, things quickly turned around, allowing the Falcons to return home with a 59–34 win Dec. 16.

The Thunderbirds trailed 22-20 at halftime, as Ian Koss scored 11 of his team-high 12 points.

Jaren Alfuth scored 10 of his game-high 14 points for Amherst in the second half as the Falcons outscored Iola-Scandinavia 37-14.

The T-Birds hosted Winneconne Dec. 20 and are scheduled to head to Marathon Thursday, Dec. 22, for a nonconference game.
