Carol R. Lind, age 88, of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca.
She was born on January 13, 1934 in New London, WI, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ina (Talady) Popke. On December 28, 1957, Carol married Ralph Lind at First Congregational Church. He proceeded her in death on May 3,2012.
Carol worked for the New London Phone Company which she referred to as “Ma” Bell for many years. She then was employed at Silverfield Cheese Factory in Fremont. She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Fremont. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and listening to and dancing to polka music.
Carol is survived by two sons, Bruce (Sandy) Lind and Brad Lind; a daughter, Janelle (Harold) Boivin; two grandsons, Eric (Fiancé Marsha Utecht) Lind and Tom (Aaron) Lind; two granddaughters, Sarah Lind and Maggie (Special Friend Logan Soerens) Lind; a brother, Pete Popke; a sister, Avis (Bob) Sasse; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Robbert and Judy Lind.
She was preceded in death by three sisters-in-law, Jeri Popke, Audrey Zamzow and Lois(Lyle)Helmrick and two brothers-in-law, Don Lind and Jerry Robbert.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hope United Church of Christ, 8950 Alpine Rd., Fremont. Pastor Nancy Micke will officiate. Visitation will be held at Hope United Church of Christ on Monday, from 9:00 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Brushville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
