Russell Richard Brown, age 78, formerly of New London, passed away on Dec. 27, 2022 in Montana from complications of ALS and respiratory failure.
Rusty was born on Sept. 19, 1944 to Richard and Margaret Brown. He graduated in 1962 and joined the US Air Force, where he served as a radar technician near Charlevoix MI until 1967.
After a career with IBM, an asphalt business and as a successful realtor, Rusty retired to Montana. He loved the West and the rugged outdoors. It was there that he enjoyed camping. fishing, hunting and riding his Harley.
Russ loved his family most of all, but the Green Bay Packers were a close second. He loved his Labrador retrievers, attending his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, books and movies about the Old West, playing cards, and debating politics.
Russ was so happy to be able to attend his 60th Class Reunion in New London in October and connect with old friends and classmates.
Russ is survived by his loving wife, Dianna of Belgrade MT, his daughters Rhonda Lin Brown Martenson, Heather (Jay) Brown, Mariah (Ervin) Nelson, Rachael (Pat) Turner, Ann (Shelby) Toepke, his mother in law Carol Agnew, his sisters Deneka Guyette and Nancy Allen, his brother, David (Patricia) Brown, and brother in law, Lee Beattie. There are also 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Ally Margaret Brown, his sister Carol Beattie and brothers in law James Guyette and Dale Allen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
