Dolores “Dee” (Wietor) Goggins, age 93, of Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at her home.

She was born August 10, 1929 in Chicago, IL; daughter of Marie Wietor.  Dee attended St. Mary’s Springs High School in Fond du Lac, and went on to graduate from St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1950.  She worked at Bethany Nursing Home in Waupaca for many years.  On May 3, 1952, Dee married George Goggins in Campbellsport, WI.  In 2002 they celebrated 50 years together.  Dee and George moved to Waupaca in 1971 from Germantown, WI.  They felt they had found “God’s Country”.  She enjoyed reading, traveling with family and friends, playing bridge, and the “Loonies” annual get togethers.  Dee was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca.  Family was very important to Dee and she was so proud of all of her children and their families.  She will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Dee is survived by her seven children Maureen (Jim) Dragich of Winneconne, Kevin (Peggy) Goggins of Waupaca, Mike (June) Goggins of Wild Rose, Pat (Arelene) Goggins of Scandinavia, Megan (Terry Larson) Goggins of Waupaca, Erin (Pete) Schulz of Greenville, and Tim Goggins of Joplin, MO; fifteen wonderful grandchildren Lisa (Adam) Jelen, Shawn (Julia) Goggins, Shane (Kiley) Goggins, Sheldon (Kelsey) Goggins, Tyler (fianceé Haley) Goggins, Melody (Corey) Schuelke, Jenny (Josh) Rindlisbacher, Nate Goggins, Jordan (Paloma) Goggins, Seth Goggins, Taylor (Khrystyna) Larson, Cody (Amanda) Larson, Kate Larson, Sam Schulz, and Al Schulz; fifteen special great-grandchildren Jade (Jacob), Jimmy, Kiley, Brook, Aidan, Jace, Kayleigh, Olivia, Liam, Maddie, Evelyn, Lexi (Michael), Bryce (Evy), Matthew, and Lucy; one brother Jim (Nancy) Gruetzmacher and family; a sister-in-law Joan Goggins; and also by many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marie; parents-in-law Patrick and Anna Goggins; her loving husband George Goggins; a grandson Paul Dragich; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Hugh (Kathy) Goggins, Patsy (Don) Brooks, and Bob Goggins.

A Memorial Mass will be on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI.  Father Placid Stroik will preside.  A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church.  A private family burial will take place at a later date at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and to Special Olympics of Waupaca, as both were important to Dee.  The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to ThedaCare at Home Hospice of Waupaca, especially Nikki, Krissy, and Paula.

Mom – thank-you for everything – for your kindness, encouragement, and “suggestions” – you will be truly missed!
