Waupaca County sheriff’s report Jan. 29

• Jan. 23 – A male caller found a dead timber wolf alongside the road. He requested an officer so he could legally tag it.

• Jan. 23 – An Iola man on Oak Ridge Road reported his neighbor’s dogs were chasing deer again in his woods. He had photos of it.

• Jan. 23 – An Iola woman on North Lake Road reported a hit and run. A vehicle crossed the centerline, smashed her side mirror and kept going.

• Jan. 23 – Bear Creek Citgo reported a check cashing scam.

• Jan. 23 – A Waupaca woman on Jefferson Street reported that a man overdosed. Narcan spray was administered.

• Jan. 24 – A male caller reported he was following a cube van that was swerving all over the road heading towards State Highway 49. The driver was squealing the tires and a door was open. The van had no license plates.

• Jan. 24 – An Iola man on North Lake Road reported possible contractor fraud.

• Jan. 24 – A Bear Creek man on Symco Road reported he struck a horse with his Ford F-150. It was walking around loose. It was now in the roadway.

• Jan. 24 – A Tigerton woman on Mud Lake Road reported being slapped around by a man at a bar.

• Jan. 24 – A Waupaca County Sheriff deputy reported: “Squad vs. deer. Will check damage later.”

• Jan. 24 – A Fremont man on Wolf River Drive reported his wife fell down the stairs and was unsure if she was OK.

• Jan. 25 – A Waupaca man on Shadow Road reported his neighbor’s dog was running loose on his property and chasing deer. He has photos of the dog from his trail camera.

• Jan. 25 – Chimney Mechanix requested a welfare check on a customer. They were in contact with her on Jan. 4. She said she was sick and they did not hear from her since then. They went there and there was no answer at the door.

• Jan. 25 – A 911 caller reported the death of a 68-year-old man. He could not stand up, had difficulty breathing and was unresponsive.

• Jan. 25 – A Marion man on Spaulding Road reported the theft of two catalytic converters from his Chevy trucks. He noticed a black car driving by recently that was moving very slowly.

• Jan. 26 – An Appleton man reported finding a bloodied visor mirror in his driveway that morning.

• Jan. 26 – An anonymous caller reported a man was threatening to take his life and now he wasn’t answering phone calls or text messages.

• Jan. 26 – A Waupaca woman on Hodgett Road requested a welfare check on some children. The mother left and the father was screaming at her.

• Jan. 26 – Canadian National Railroad reported a train would be blocking the tracks for 20 minutes.

• Jan. 26 – A cell phone caller reported finding a man approximately 65 years old in a Chrysler pulled over alongside the road. The caller said maybe the man was on drugs or had a stroke.

• Jan. 26 – A Waupaca caller on County Trunk E reported a man sold a car to his ex-wife and she paid for it in installments. When she stopped making payments, he claimed the car was his and put his name back on the title.

• Jan. 26 – Marathon County Sheriff’s Department reported a man left a note on his ex-wife’s vehicle stating that if she did not call him by 8:30 p.m. that he would put into motion plans to kill himself and to not involve law enforcement or lawyers.

• Jan. 27 – Securus, a technology communications firm that serves corrections facilities, reported suspicious activity on Waupaca County jail inmate accounts.

• Jan. 27 – A Fremont caller on Wolf River Drive reported a person took his vehicle to Marshfield to be repaired and they never returned it.

• Jan. 27 – A Fremont man on Arrowhead Road reported his daughter was receiving harassing and threatening text messages.

• Jan. 27 – A Clintonville caller on County Trunk DD reported he found scratches on his child.

• Jan. 28 – A Scandinavia caller on County Trunk B reported an error appeared on his computer prompting him to call Microsoft support. He was told to pay $25,000 and the money was deposited at a kiosk Sentry Foods in Iola the night before prior to the store closing.

• Jan. 28 – A Marion man caller County Trunk G reported a vehicle was trespassing on a snowmobile trail.

• Jan. 28 – A male caller reported that an anonymous source called him to check on a mother with three children at a place where there was no heat or water or working toilet and it had animals everywhere with feces on the floor. The floor boards were falling through.

• Jan. 28 – A New London woman on East Washington Street reported her father-in-law came to her residence where her soon-to-be-ex-husband resides. He starting yelling and said he wanted to take the kids.

• Jan. 28 – A Waupaca woman on Duvenick Lane reported her daughter-in-law called and she said she was arguing with a man. There was yelling in the background. The man recently relapsed and was using methamphetamine.

• Jan. 28 – A Manawa woman on Pine Street reported a man dropped her off at her home. As she was getting some items out of the back of the vehicle, the man put it in reverse and pushed her into the road.

• Jan. 29 – Sunset BP in Weyauwega reported a Black GMC took off on State Highway 10 with $60 worth of fuel without paying.

• Jan. 29 – An anonymous caller reported a fire. Her son lit a mattress on fire and the wall was burned. Her ex-husband was present.
• Jan. 29 – Rawhide Youth Services in New London reported a juvenile runaway.

• There was a large increase of deer-auto collisions compared to last week. Many residents called in controlled burns. A person reported a black and white pig in the roadway; another caller reported a loose sheep at another location. Theda Care reported a dog owner was bitten in the face. An abnormally high number of alarms were triggered at locals businesses this week.
