Marlin Robert Haase passed away in the early hours of Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home in Waupaca.
Marly was born in the Town of Lind on November 11, 1924. He married Donna Hansen in Waupaca in 1948. They would have soon celebrated 75 years together. Prior to his marriage he served in the Military for two years. Marly worked for Allord Trucking before working for the Ford Garage in Waupaca until his retirement. He then drove bus for the Waupaca School District. Marly enjoyed fishing on the Wolf River and hunting on the farm where he was raised. He loved restoring old cars and was active in the Waupaca Old Time Auto Club for many years, serving as President. Marly was always there for his friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Marly is survived by his loving wife, Donna Haase; his daughter Sally (Edwin) Sopa; Grandchildren, Shawn (Christina) Sopa, Holly Meza, Heidi (Elias) Vargas, Shane Sopa, Melissa Sopa; great grandchildren, Mckenna (Thomas) Phillipson, Micah Meza, Sawyer Sopa, Shania Sopa, Aurora Vargas, Elias Vargas, Eleazar Vargas, Meghan Sopa, and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ella Haase; a son, Ronald Haase; his brother and sisters, Alfred and Mildren Haase, Rudy and Alica Haase, Edward and Rose Haase, Al Haase, Peter (Anna Haase) Olson, Louie and Lucille Haase, George and Audrey Haase, Francis Haase, an infant sister, and his grandson Shawn’s late wife, Susan Sopa.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Pastor Chris Oh will be officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Spring. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
