Public input wanted in Manawa

Listening sessions planned for new district administrator

The Manawa School Board has begun the search process for a new district and business administrator for the Manawa School District.

“We have selected School Exec Connect, an educational search firm, to assist us with this process,” board president Sondra Reierson wrote in a letter to community members. “We are interested in receiving your input about our district’s strengths, challenges and opportunities, as well as desired characteristics and strengths of our new district and business administrator.”

The public is invited to attend and participate in one of two listening sessions on Tuesday, Feb. 21. One session will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sturm Memorial Library and the other from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Manawa Middle School/Little Wolf High School commons.

“Information from these listening sessions will be used to develop a new district and business administrator profile that will be reported to the board the week of Feb. 27,” Reierson wrote. “Our job is to secure the strongest candidate pool and ultimately the best fit to lead our district. To that end, the board has decided to conduct a confidential search and that only the two to three finalist candidates’ names will be announced publicly.”

Questions or comments for the search firm can be forwarded to consultant Dean Gorrell at [email protected].
