Nancy M. Schneider, age 86, formerly of Weyauwega, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Linden Grove in New Berlin.

She was born on January 27, 1937 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Kroll) Burger.

On November 15, 1956, Nancy married John Schneider in Madison and they raised three children, Susan, John III and Victoria in rural Fremont. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1999. Nancy loved playing cards. She was a member and former secretary for the Fremont Seniors Card group. She also loved to read and belonged to the Weyauwega Library Book Club. Nancy loved to give of her time to help others. She was a dear friend to all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, encouraging them all on life’s path. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran in Fremont.

Nancy is survived by her children, Susan of Appleton; John III of Waukesha; and Victoria of Crete, IL; her grandchildren, Christy Reetz; Julie (Anthony) Seashore, John Potratz IV, Zane and Alex Schneider, Kyle and Kelsey Meyer, great-grandchildren, Alissa Reetz, Anthony, Jeffery and Gavin Seashore and Cadence Potratz, brother-in-law Sebastian (Joy) Schneider of Hales Corner, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brothers Jim Curtis, Jack Burger, Russel Burger, and Bill Svehlek, grandson Phillip Meyer, and special friend, Don Hirte.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11AM at Lewin Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Fremont. Pastor Nancy Zorn-Micke will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9AM until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in the Spring.
