Excavation work on the aqua park that will be created in Clintonville began on Feb. 20.

The excavation work also included the removal of several stumps on the property.

Justin Mc Auly, director of the Parks & Recreation Department for the city of Clintonville updated the Clintonville City Council on the project at the Feb. 14 council meeting.

At the meeting, he said the estimated completion date for the project is the end of July.

“As long as the weather cooperates,” Mc Auly said. “They hope to be done earlier but right now, roughly the end of July is the end date.”

Ald. Tammy Strey-Hirt asked if the aqua park would be opened in July after the work is completed.

Mc Auly said the first usage of the park would for ice skating in the winter of 2023-24.

“We’ll have a grand opening for swimming in June 2024,” Mc Auly said.
