Waupaca County sheriff’s report March 16

• March 13 – A New London man on State Highway 54 reported someone opened an account with his information. The accounts were frozen but cards were being sent to a previous address in Illinois.

• March 13 – A female caller requested a welfare check on a man who emailed his college instructor that he would not be attending class because he was having suicidal thoughts.

• March 13 – A New London man on Bean City Road reported a suspicious gray sedan with Massachusetts plates.

• March 13 – An Iola man on Norske Road requested assistance. He shares a driveway with a neighbor and the neighbor’s vehicle was parked on his side of the driveway. He didn’t contact the neighbor because he was threatened in the past.

• March 14 – A New London woman on County Trunk T reported electrical wires were sparking and arcing on a tree near a house.

• March 14 – An Iola caller on Aastrud reported that starting on Feb. 23, a woman was sending messages and intimate pictures of the caller and threatened to show them to her husband and later did. She was also harassing the husband.

• March 14 – A New London man on Hoffman Road reported a gold chain was stolen from his home.

• March 14 – A Clintonville woman on Golf Club Road reported a farm was running overweight trucks on posted roads.

• March 14 –A Marion woman on Meyer Street reported she left her door unlocked and a late 40s Caucasian man walked in carrying a tablet and claiming to be from Spectrum. This occurred at 7:15 p.m. He was driving a blue SUV.

• March 14 – A Clintonville man on Dobbs Road reported his email was hacked and the hackers were contacting people in his name requesting gift cards.

• March 15 – Wally World Tavern reported that a man who was not allowed in the bar entered and started making comments. He was asked to leave. He looked at a bartender and said, “You’re dead.”

•March 15 – A Waupaca caller on Van Street reported she was involved in a domestic incident with a man who turned physical. There were no weapons, no drinking and no ambulance was needed.

• March 15 – A Waupaca caller on Scott Street reported a man was “acting up,” being disrespectful and would not leave. He might have been drinking.

• March 15 – An anonymous caller reported a white SUV drives 100 mph everyday around 5:30 a.m. going east on State Highway 10 between Waupaca and Weyauwega.

• March 16 – An anonymous person stopped at the sheriff’s office to report people leaving an establishment intoxicated and believed the people were over-served.

• March 16 – The Marion Police Department reported a worthless check made out to Nolan Sales for $49,000 for an auction item.

• March 16 – A New London caller on Division Street reported a woman left the address on foot with suicidal thoughts and “was looking for a vehicle to get into an accident with.”

• March 16 – A cell phone caller reported the rear door of a GFL truck opened up and spread trash all the way to New London.

• March 16 – A Clintonville woman on Lakeshore Drive received a package in the mail with a gun inside. It was her address but under a different name.

• March 16 – A New London woman on State Highway 54 reported a side-by-side four wheeler struck three mailboxes and kept going.

• There were an average number of deer-auto collisions during this period. There was a very high number of traffic stops. Very few residents called in controlled burns. No animals were reported running loose.
