Finalists to visit Manawa

Decision on administrator coming in April

The Manawa Board of Education has selected three finalists for the position of district and business administrator.

They are:

• Jason Bull, director of teaching, learning and assessment in the Manitowoc School District.

• Ben Heninger, superintendent of the Butternut School District.

• Ryan Peterson, principal at Appleton North High School.

Board president Sondra Reierson said each finalist will visit the district and tour the buildings Tuesday to Thursday, March 28-30.

“There will be an informal public and staff meet-and-greet opportunity for each candidate from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each of those days at the elementary school commons,” she said. “At the conclusion of those public sessions, the board will conduct a final interview of each candidate. The board plans to make their announcement on the new district and business administrator in early April.”

Current District Administrator Melanie Oppor will retire at the end of the 2022-23 school year, while business manager Carmen O’Brien will also step down.
