Robert “Bob” A. Martin Jr., age 74, of Waupaca, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 after his battle with leukemia.

Bob was well known throughout Waupaca and will be remembered by the many lives he touched. Bob was born on February 9, 1949 in Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Robert and Mary Martin. He attended Appleton High School and graduated in year 1967.

He attended University of Wisconsin Whitewater for a year before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Bob proudly served his country in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, Bob began working at the Waupaca Foundry many years as a loyal employee. He also worked for his father’s distributing company.

After Bob’s retirement he was overjoyed to have more time to dedicate to his greatest passion in life, golf. Bob was an avid golfer and won many local championships over the years. He enjoyed spending time playing golf with his friends and family as often as he could.

Bob truly loved spending time with his sons, going to the Chain bar or the Harbor bar to see friends, and enjoying an ice cold Korbel and water with a slice of lemon. He was a devoted father and grandfather, showing up to support or celebrate them at every opportunity possible.

Bob is survived by his children: Chris Martin, Waupaca, WI; Zach (Isabelle DeVooght Blaney) Martin, New London, WI; and brother, Jeff Martin, Waupaca, WI. He was also the proud “Grandpa B” to two wonderful grandchildren, Aria and Emmit Martin.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary, and brother, James.

As per Bob’s request, there will be a private graveside service with family and close friends only. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
