Concert set for April 24

The New London High School Music Department will present its Show Choir Show Monday, April 24.

The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium, with doors to open at 7 p.m.

The First Sight and Vision show choirs will be highlighted. First Sight, under the direction of Ted C. Williams, will perform “Mr. Blue Sky,” ”Hold Back the River,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” and “Rain On Me.”

The choir recently performed at Green Bay Southwest and earned a first runner-up award in the Middle School Division.

Vision, the high school show choir under the direction of Kevin Spindler and show band director Alex Rambo, will finish the concert with their entire competition show, “There is No Time Except for Today, Live Life Presently.”

Songs will include: “Bring Me to Life,” “Time Passing Through,” “Who Knows Where the Time Goes?”/”Yesterday,” “Bones” and “Time For Me To Fly.”

“This award-winning ensemble hosted the Singstock Festival in New London, this year’s largest one-day competition in the state, on Jan. 21 and competed at show choir festivals across the state,” Spindler said. “Vision has had a banner year, making the finals at every competition they attended for the first time in Vision’s history.”

The choir’s competitions included the Colby Central Spectacular, third runner-up, best performer (Zong Xiong); the Sauk Prairie Executive Session, fifth runner-up, best performer (Jonah Stone); De Pere Destination Let’s Jam, third runner-up, best costumes, best male soloist (Kayden Kloehn); and the Green Bay Southwest Packerland Showcase, fourth runner-up.

“We will be honoring our 15 seniors on their final performance,” Spindler said. “Admission is free. Plan on arriving early for the best seats of the house. We really hope that you can join us to celebrate our historic year of accomplishments. Come and see what this year’s Vision has done to make this year so momentous. We truly are grateful for all of the support from our school district and the New London community.”
