Sharon Elaine Mott, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Hortonville, WI.
She was born March 7, 1939 in Waupaca, WI; the only child of Allan and Eunice (Anderson) Johnson. In her early years, she moved to Iola, WI where she started her family. Sharon had one daughter and three sons, Deborah (James) Golke of Waupaca, Mark (the late Kris Grimm) Thoe of Waupaca, Tim Thoe of New London, and Scott (Patti) Thoe of Appleton. They gave her seven grandchildren, Harry and Blake Thoe; Amanda and Karly Thoe; Tara (Joey) Turrubiates; and Tia and Maria Golke; and five great-grandchildren.
Sharon worked as a telephone operator, CNA in Waupaca and Iola Nursing Homes, a bartender, had her own garbage route in Iola, and became the nursing home van driver taking patients to appointments. She enjoyed meeting new people. Sharon loved watching the Packers and Brewers. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her companion and special friend of 40 years, Tom Olson. They enjoyed fishing on Hatch Lake together and taking many trips out west.
She was preceded in death by her parents Allan and Eunice Johnson, and a daughter-in-law Kris Grimm.
A Funeral Service for Sharon will be on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Scandinavia Lutheran Church in Scandinavia, WI. Pastor Kent Wallace will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place on Monday afternoon at Farmington Lutheran Cemetery in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
