Scoring goals was not a problem for the Waupaca girls’ soccer team in its North Eastern Conference matchup with Clintonville.

The Comets came up with nine goals May 9 in a 9-1 win over the Truckers at Comet Field.

Mia Koehler opened the scoring five minutes into the game with the first of her three goals.

Taylor Kling added a goal four minutes later and the score remained 2-0 until Charlie Hansen’s unassisted goal in the 25th minute.

Maggie Bodenheimer and Koehler added goals in the final eight minutes of the first half and the Comets had a 5-0 lead at the break.

Bodenheimer’s second goal three minutes into the second half gave the Comets a 6-0 lead.

Clintonville’s Sierra Brandenberg scored Clintonville’s goal, but Waupaca answered with goals from Alexis Scholz and Koehler. The game ended in the 67th minute on Ava Widdel’s unassisted goal.
