Ireton, LaFaye

LaFaye Ireton, 96, went to her heavenly home on May 24th, 2023.

LaFaye Steck Ireton was born on February 16th, 1927 as the second daughter to the late Beryl and Bessie (Howard) Steck. LaFaye married Allen (Bud) Ireton in Riverside, CA on August 28th, 1943. They farmed in Lind Center, WI, raised three children, and retired from farming in 1969. LaFaye lived life to the fullest, spending time with family and friends, especially her 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, volunteered at the Weyauwega food pantry and middle school, read books for Head Start, was involved with the homemaker’s club for 50 years, and served on countless other committees. She loved square dancing with Bud, golfing with The Golfing Gourmets, camping with friends, and playing cards with everyone, winning every time.

LaFaye is survived by her daughters: Sharon Redemann (Madison) and Gaye (Lon) Behm (Eagle River); daughter-in-law, Ardris Ireton (Lena, IL); her grandchildren: Rory (Stacy) Redemann, Ryan (Sarah) Redemann, Joshua (Heidi) Behm, Miranda (Matt) Macur, Doug Ireton, and Nicole (Dean) Rood; her loved great-grandchildren: Brenna (Trevor Schell) Redemann, Brooke Redemann, Sam, Ellie, and Zach Redemann, Aiden and Grace Behm, Hannah (Fiance, Bobby Tilot) Macur and Jack Macur, Beau and Tess LaFaye Ireton, Sierra (Fiance, Jake Maaske) Rood and Tristan Rood. She is further survived by her sister, Rosalee Upp; sisters-in-law, Peggy Ireton, Vada Ireton; and many nieces and nephews.

LaFaye was predeceased by her husband, Bud; parents, Beryl and Bessie Steck; in-laws, Lee and Margaret Ireton; son, Michael; son-in-law, Pat Redemann; grandson, Joey Behm; great-grandson, Robert Lon Behm; sisters, Bonnie Hunter, Jere Johnson, Berla Wittmann; brothers-in-law, Wayne Johnson, Bob Wittman, Merrill Upp, Jim Ireton, Dale Ireton, Tom Ireton, Leo Wood, George Ennis; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Wood, Virginia Ennis.

The celebration of life for LaFaye will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church (200 Pine Street, Weyauwega, WI). Sheri Reindl will officiate. Visitation will be held at 11 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
