Jerry J. Siegel, age 80 of the Township of Larrabee, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.
Jerry James Siegel was born July 25, 1942 in Clintonville, son of the late Oscar & Veronica “Fronie” (Rindt) Siegel. He grew up on the family farm and attended Excelsior, a one room school, until he went to high school in Marion. Jerry started working for a local cheese factory right in the city of Marion. He was united in marriage to Maxine Zastrow on October 2, 1965 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bonduel; and started his career at F.W.D. Seagrave, Clintonville that same year. Jerry worked as a fabricator until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion. In his younger years, Jerry hung out with a group of close friends and participated in stock-car racing at Shawano Speedway. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing for trout, pan fish, and took some fun charters on Lake Michigan . A long-time member of the Clintonville Bow Hunters, he also enjoyed deer hunting with bow and gun, and liked to hunt small game as well. Jerry’s home was surrounded by wildlife and he enjoyed watching it all unfold in his backyard. Trips out west to Colorado and taking the train up to Canada, created memories that will never be forgotten. Although his career wasn’t in farming, he really enjoyed continuing to help with field work on his family’s home farm; it is still operated by his family members. He enjoyed keeping up with NASCAR and watching the Green Bay Packers play. Jerry had a tireless work ethic and always had a project or two he was working on; he especially loved building his bird houses. He will be remembered as a jokester, who could be a bit stubborn, but he loved and took pride in his family and grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maxine
