
Michael Carl Jensen, age 71, went home to heaven on July 14, 2023, while surrounded by family.
Mike was born on April 30, 1952, to Carlton and Erma (Rasmussen) Jensen of Waupaca, WI. After graduation from Waupaca High School, he attended Fox Valley Technical College. After college, he entered the Army as a topographic surveyor. He graduated from Defense Mapping School at Fort Belvoir in Virginia in 1973 and was transferred to a base in Germany where he served for two and a half years.
On July 7, 1979, he married Carol Cast of Indianapolis, IN.
In 1976, he was employed by Phillips and Associates as a draftsman and surveyor. The company later joined GRAEF. He worked for them for 41 years and retired in 2018.
Mike loved the outdoors. His many hobbies included working in his orchard and garden, making maple syrup, restoring his antique John Deere tractors, camping, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved passing down his interests to his daughters and grandchildren and including them in his hobbies.
Mike was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Waupaca. He loved his church and church family. Over the years, he served in numerous ministries of the church.
Mike is survived by his wife: Carol Jensen, Waupaca; his daughters: Regina (Tom) Dake, Waupaca and Deanna (Glen) Poehlman, Waupaca; his five grandchildren: Chloe Dake; Carah Dake; Quinn Dake; Levi Poehlman; Tyler Poehlman; his brothers: Malcolm (Lisa) Jensen, Waupaca; Mark Jensen, Waupaca; his sister: Jean (Dan) Springborn, Soldiers Grove and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mike left wonderful memories for us to cherish. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Waupaca on July 22, 2023 at 11:00, Pastor Larry Gross will be officiating. A visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
