Isalona Irene Von Ruden, age 84, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Irene was born in Dubuque, Iowa on September 8, 1938 to the late Edward and Maude (Barker) Bruns. She married Lambert B. Von Ruden on June 18, 1956 in Tomah, Wisconsin.
Irene was a dual resident. She haled from Wisconsin, but considered Florida her home. For many decades she resided in the warmth of the Florida sun. Irene loved gardening and had a vast knowledge of all things green and flowering. She was engaging and social. She enjoyed walking in her neighborhood and area parks. Irene loved to exercise her mind by working jigsaw puzzles and challenging herself with Sudoko and crosswords. Irene enjoyed staying in touch with her grandchildren. She struggled with technology, but enjoyed using Facebook.
Irene is survived by her four children, Dawn (Andy) Torris, Kathy Morzfeld, Lambert Jr. (Beth) Von Ruden, and Randy Von Ruden; grandchildren, Katrina Morzfeld, Jacob Morzfeld, Lauren (Ryan) Seger, Donovan Von Ruden and Dylan Von Ruden; great grandchildren, Ryley and Ryan Jr. Seger; brothers and sisters, Ed Bruns, Sue Lawrence, Sharon Traxler, Duane (Karen) Bruns; sisters in-law, Alrita Benish, Candee Bruns, and Clarice Doyle; close family friend, Philip Garrett.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert; parents, Edward and Maude Bruns; brother, Ivan, brothers in-law, Gary and Al; sister in-law, Barb Bruns. She was further preceded in death by in-laws, Mary and John Heuerman, Lorain Von Ruden, John Doyle, and Frank Benish.
Irene always confidently said she would live to be 120 years old. The untimeliness of her passing would have shocked her the most. She will be missed.
A celebration of life for Irene will be held at a later date.
