Mittelstaedt, Stacy Helen

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our loving and devoted daughter, sister, partner, aunt, mother, and loyal friend—Stacy Helen Mittelstaedt.

On March 29, 1979, Stacy was born the apple of her daddy’s eye. He was in awe of her from the moment he laid eyes on her. Her mother remembers her as the happiest baby. She had a childhood filled with wonderful memories of playing on the family farm, and watching over her animals, especially her beloved horse, Smokey. She was the sister brothers dream of—mothering, tender, loving, tough, and cool to top it all off. Brad and Paul have always been and will continue to be smitten with their sister’s sweetness forever. She was also her dear mother’s best friend and confidant every day of her life. Stacy’s love for her family was loyal, true, and unwavering.

Stacy graduated from Waupaca High School in 1997 and continued her education at UW La Crosse, where she received her BBA, and graduated with honors. Following her parents’ footsteps, she took over ownership of the family business, Waupaca Pallet, with her brothers, Brad and Paul. Her dedication and intelligence were an impactful part of the company’s growth over the last 25 years.

In 2008—Stacy bonded with her partner in life, Shannon, which grew her family by two beautiful bonus daughters, Taylor and Nia. In 2009 Shannon and Stacy welcomed their sweet daughter, Adalyn. We are blessed to see glimpses of our Stacy in her daughter and mini-me.

Stacy adored her family, and many friends who she called family, more than anything. She never left a greeting without excitement, a compliment untold, a hug unattended, a stomach unfilled, or an I love you left unsaid. We were truly blessed with every ounce of love and energy she poured into all of us.

She doted upon her daughter, bonus daughters, nieces, and nephews. These kids were her world. She lived for the happiness they all brought to her. Her genuine love and support covered their spirits with a warmth that will forever feel like sunshine, even on the coldest day.

She loved breakfast visits and dinners with her favorite people, watching movies, trips to the dells, hosting countless family events, concerts of every known music genre, hooded sweatshirts, and cooking her grandmothers’ recipes. She was a fabulous cook, and we were all spoiled with that gift.

Stacy lived with love and loyalty to all those she cared for. She was fierce. She was beautiful—inside and out. She was stubborn. She was smart. She was kind. She was adorably clumsy. She was loyal. She was cool. She was our Stacy. There is no one that can ever replace the beautiful being she was.

Stacy Helen Mittelstaedt passed peacefully and surrounded by love on August 16, 2023 at 3:38pm. We know she finally found peace in her father’s loving arms and our dear Ella’s Shine. We take comfort in imagining that sweet embrace.

Rest easy, our sweet Stacy. We will miss you every day of our lives.

Love you to the moon and back, forever.

Stacy is survived by her daughter Adalyn (Ady) Schroeder; her long-time partner and best friend Shannon Schroeder; her two bonus daughters Taylor and Nia Schroeder; her mother Patsy Mittelstaedt; two brothers Brad (Beth) Mittelstaedt and Paul (Missy) Mittelstaedt; nieces and nephews Lexie & Lauren Mittelstaedt and Mack & Pauly Mittelstaedt; parents-in-law Kim and Mary Schroeder; sister-in-law Liz (Brook) Bremmer and their daughters Alex and Harper; brother-in-law Lewis Schroeder and his children Tyler and Kate; and also by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Family and Friends will gather on Monday from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church to share special memories and fond moments. In lieu of flowers, a memorial(s) is being established in Stacy’s name. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
