Greisch-Bartelme, Joanne

Joanne Greisch-Bartelme passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, surrounded by family, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Joanne was born on July 21, 1939, in Sheboygan to John and Olga Henning. From an early age, she held various jobs and developed a strong work ethic; later graduating from Sheboygan Central High School in 1957.

In September, 1959, Joanne married Richard “Dick” Greisch. They had two children: daughter Elizabeth Anne “Liz”; and son Timothy John “Tim”. Joanne primarily worked while Dick pursued his educational degrees. The couple eventually settled in Fond du Lac, and would later divorce.

Joanne worked for many years at JCPenney, then for 27 years at Mercury Marine; officially retiring in 2002.

Family was very important to her— whether it was visiting relatives, providing personal care, or attending a recital. Joanne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, as well as taking meticulous care of her yard and flower beds.

In addition to being an avid reader, Joanne took time to volunteer at the Fond du Lac Public Library, the Hospice Home of Hope, and Hope Lutheran Church, where she was an active member.

In 2011, Joanne met Thomas “Tom” Bartelme. They quickly discovered their common interests, which included Church fellowship, Brewers baseball, family gatherings, taking walks, and many other fun activities. This wonderful partnership quickly bloomed into love— they were united in marriage on August 3, 2019.

Joanne is survived by: her husband Tom Bartelme, of Fond du Lac; daughter Liz (Bruno) Pasquinelli, of Dallas, TX; son Tim Greisch, of Monona; grandchildren: Camille (Danil) Zelenkov; Natalie (Matt) Pasquinelli; Julia Pasquinelli; Bruno Pasquinelli; Lilliana Greisch; and Isabella Pasquinelli.

Also survived by Tom’s children: son Eric Bartelme, of Rosendale; son Alan (Kassandra) Bartelme of Cedarburg; granddaughters: Alessandra Bartelme and Adalyn Bartelme.
Joanne was preceded in death by: her parents John and Olga Henning, and her sister Shirley Ponath.
