Millerd, James George

James George “Jim” Millerd passed away in the early morning hours of September 24, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh, Wi.

He was born on March 9 1941 in New London to George and Ruth (Bruley) Millerd. He moved with his family to Clintonville and graduated with the class of 1959 then attended UW Oshkosh. He was drafted and served his country in Vietnam from 1966-68. He worked numerous jobs as a bartender in several Supper Clubs notably Hesser”s & Robbin”s in Oshkosh. In 1970 Jim purchased the Grand Bar in Oshkosh.

Jim married the love of life, Mary Jo Westover on October 3, 1975. They raised three children. He spent a decade in Las Vegas and another decade in Sebring, Florida before moving back to Clintonville briefly then returned to Oshkosh.

Jim enjoyed playing baseball and softball throughout his life and helped coach his sons in little League. He was a fan of the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers (which he passed on to his children). Jim loved animals and had a dog most of the time including one in Vietnam.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Jo: daughter Nicole of Oshkosh; sons Alex of Oshkosh and Gorman of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Blayton, Alysa, Addilyn and Jaxon; brothers Bob, Dick and Gary and Sister Mary and his oldest friend Winn Zimmerman of Neenah.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Keith and Dennis. He will be forever in the Hearts of his family and friends.
