WEYAUWEGA – A 17-year-old male in Weyauwega was arrested for 23 counts of possession of child pornography.
Sergeant Bryan Strobusch of the Weyauwega Police Department received an Internet Crimes Against Children tip from the Wisconsin Department of Justice. This tip came through Snapchat and it involved files uploaded by a person with the user name “hail239494.” This person turned out to be the 17-year-old suspect.
The investigation of the jpeg and video files revealed pubescent and prepubescent females in different sexual acts with varying levels of depravity and perversity. Some of the videos included a male partner and objects. The videos ranged between 15 second to 70 seconds long.
Strobusch also reviewed chat logs were the suspect conversed online with people of similar interests in underage females. The user hail239494 inquired about females as young as eight years old. Some other users called him a “pedo” and a “creep.” With one user he discussed trading usernames of underage females that could be contacted and also he discussed trading photo/video files of child pornography with other users.
The 17-year-old faces conviction of multiple Class I felonies. The possible punishment includes being fined $10,000 and he could be imprisoned for three years and six months.
