A fair for people

No cotton candy, no Ferris wheel, just people

WAUPACA – The Waupaca Area Public Library is holding its first annual People Fair on June 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the library’s lower-level meeting room.
How it works: show up and talk to people. There will be around 20 community groups attending and people can learn how to get involved with stuff happening around town.
“The interest from not-for-profit groups has been overwhelming,” said library director Eric Bailey. “We’ve talked to many groups who are struggling to connect with volunteers, and regularly hear from community members that they want to get more involved in the community but aren’t sure how.”
“Jan Popple [adult service librarian] has really enlivened our volunteer base at the library in the past year, and we began to see the community need for things to become involved in. Laura Jandacek and I have been helping her plan the event,” said Molly Reinke, library coordinator.
