Almond Bancroft was shut out on the road 11-0, against Pittsville as the game was stopped in the fifth inning on April 29.
Pittsville’s Dawson Luther got his team on the board in the first inning with a double to drive in a run to give his team a 1-0 lead. Luther pushed the score to 2-0 as he stole third base, and an errant throw brought him home to give Pittsville another run.
Logan Zickert pushed the lead to 4-0 as he had a two-run single in the bottom of the second inning. Luther drove in another runner in the second with a double to give Pittsville a 5-0 lead. Luther would score as Ben Friday drove him in with a double to make the score 6-0.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Grant Rademan drove in a runner with a single to put the score to 7-0. Liam Parkinson kept the runs coming in during the fourth, scoring a runner on a single to right field.
Runs continued to cross home plate for Pittsville with bases loaded. A pitch hit a batter to bring in another score. Zickert drove in the final two runs in the fourth with a double.
Almond Bancroft could not put any runs on the board in the fifth inning as the game got called in the fifth for mercy ruling.
Luther was the winning pitcher after throwing the shutout.
