Manawa would answer in the second set as they went up 23-12 after an Amherst scoring attempt went out of play. The Wolves closed out the second set winning 25-15.
Wierza delivered a kill to give Amherst a 13-2 lead in the third set as Amherst asserted themselves early. The Falcons eventually closed out the set winning 25-11.
In the fourth and most competitive set, both teams went back-and-forth as they couldn’t get an advantage until an ace by Amherst’s Holly Singer made the score 21-19.
“Just move on from your last mistake, keep your energy high, and cheer each other on, because that’s a big thing, because we need to keep our energy up.” Said Singer of what she told her team in between sets.
The Falcons close out the fourth and final set with a kill to make the score 25-20 and win the match.
