Amherst knocks off Warhawks in extra inning

Amherst got an extra-inning victory over Weyauwega-Fremont on the road to end their regular season.

Neither team scored any runs until the seventh inning, Leah Kisting came up to bat and laid down a bunt to score a runner, as it became a 1-0 Amherst lead.

Abigail Hansen drove in the tying run for Weyauwega-Fremont in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI single and sent the game to extra innings.

In the ninth inning, Makenna Orsund drove in the winning runs with a two-RBI double to put Amherst up 3-1, and the Warhawks could not respond in the bottom of the inning.
