Amherst wins blowout against Stratford

Amherst Falcons won a road American Legion game in five innings of play over Stratford on June 19 as they got the victory in a shutout.

Gage Glodowski put Amherst on the board first with a hit to the right-field wall for a one-run double in the first inning. Landon Austin made the score 3-0 in the opening inning as he hit a two-run RBI.

Seth Bielen kept the runs coming for Amherst in the first inning with an RBI single to make the score 4-0. Logan Hintz made the score 5-0 with an RBI single.
In the third inning, Amherst went up 6-0, and Bielen drove in a run with an RBI single. A two-run double by Noah Spoelstra made the score 8-0.

In the top of the fourth, Amherst made the score 9-0 after a wild pitch brought a runner home.

It was 10-0 after Glodowski drove in a run on an RBI groundout to seal the victory after five innings.
