WAUPACA – There are two large Adirondack chairs at Upper Lime Kiln Park that seemed to have appeared out of thin air. One day they were just there leaving people wondering where did they come from?
According to Peter Tabor, Waupaca County Parks Supervisor, the idea came from department head, John Francis.
Looking at the leftover material that the department had from previous projects, they decided to use it to build the chairs for the park.
“We thought it would be a fun way for people to enjoy the park and the Chain, what a view,” Tabor said.
The oversized Adirondack chairs were built by the crew at the Parks Department.
As of right now there are no plans to build more for other parks in the county. Tabor said if there was enough interest in having them in more places they may consider adding them to other locations.
They will be moved into storage for the summer months. Tabor said they are there for you to sit in and enjoy the beautiful Chain O’ Lakes views.
