MANAWA – It’s officially fall, and downtown Manawa is celebrating with music, shopping and family activities Saturday.
The Manawa Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Fall Fest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 along 2nd Street.
Music will be provided throughout the festival by Lincoln O’Brien, who is DJing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with sponsorship from First State Bank. O’Brien is donating his services to support a local community cause.
Family-friendly attractions and children’s activities will include pumpkin bowling with Manawa Lanes, pumpkin coloring at Linda Mae’s, craft-making with CAP Services and balloon twisting sponsored by Sturm Memorial Library.
Children can also take part in face painting by local art students, henna art by Hands of Henna by Anita and minnow races hosted by Little Wolf River Outfitters.
Other attractions include a golf game hosted by Cedar Springs, an alpaca display from Kruzicki’s Kemo Kritters, a working beehive observation display from Meadow Girls Honey and a meet-and-greet with the Manawa Police Department.
Local artisans, bakers, makers and small businesses will line 2nd Street. To encourage attendees to support permanent downtown dining options, organizers limited food trucks to a select group, including El Tequila, Yum Yum Egg Rolls and Rustic Java.
“This Fall Fest is going to be extra special,” organizer Jean Seeger said. “We have been working hard to put together a fun-filled day for our community, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. With amazing local vendors, delicious food and fun activities for the kids, there will be something for everyone.”
Admission to Fall Fest is free, with parking available on Main Street, adjacent side streets and in city parking lots. Additional vendor highlights and event updates can be found on Manawa’s Fall Fest Facebook page.
