The Waupaca Community Theatre will hold auditions for its 2024 summer musical from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Waupaca Middle School auditorium.
This year’s production will be the sci-fi musical “Little Shop Of Horrors.”
With a pop-rock score, it is based on the 1960 film directed by Roger Corman and starring Jack Nicholson.
The play features book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, the creative duo responsible for the Disney scores to “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and The Beast” and “Aladdin.”
Those auditioning should prepare a short song, preferably from a Broadway show.
An accompanist will be present so bring sheet music if possible.
WCT is looking for talented and diverse performers of all ethnicities over the age of 16 for roles in this production.
Rehearsals will take place Monday through Thursday evenings during June and July.
Rehearsal requirements will vary depending on the role. Performance dates are July 27, 28 and Aug. 1-4.
Justin Schilling will direct the production and performances will be accompanied by a full pit orchestra conducted by John Kelley.
