CLINTONVILLE – St. Martin Lutheran School held its annual Awards Day on May 30. During the ceremony, it was also announced that students picked the school theme for next year: “The Lord is My Rock” from Isaiah 26:4.
Adeline Zuehl and Charlie Smith were acknowledged for perfect attendance.
The following students earned top honors in the Accelerated Reader program: Laney Schreiber (285.7), Jason Selle (346.4), Eliana Harris (429.9), and John Baierl (472.2). Lower grade top honors went to Everett Pettis (105.4), Piper Tuma (113.8), Elyse Orvedahl (116.4), Emma Wendorf (152.7), Charlie Tessmer (169), and Mason Hill (210.7).
Certificates for Music were given to Chloe Bessette, Raeden Miller, Tysen Laack, Madison Harbaugh, Christian Ebert, Esmeralda Moguel-Ramirez, Eliana Harris, Tyler Huss, Charlie Papendorf and Zachary Jepson. The following students were given music pins for participation in four or more music activities: Brynleigh Birling, Kate Heineman, Deklen Korth, Adela Brendemuehl, Patron Hoffmann, Casen Mauel, Lily Reindl and Emily Hagman.
The upper and lower grades track winners were announced from the May 16 meet.
Spelling bee winners were given certificates and ribbons: second place went to Lawson Kriewaldt and first place went to Trevin Marquardt.
St. Martin Honor Society recipients were: Chloe Bessette, Brynleigh Birling, Emily Hagman, Madison Harbaugh, Eliana Harris, Kate Heineman, Tyler Huss, Zachary Jepson, Deklen Korth, Marcus Opperman, Charlie Papendorf, Lily Reindl, and Lucy Yaeger. These students were on the honor roll each quarter during their 7th and 8th grade years.
Eighth grade students received merit badges for extracurricular activities in which they served in the past four years. The following students received a medallion for participating in 20 or more activities: Chloe Bessette, Kate Heineman, Charlie Papendorf, Patron Hoffmann, Casen Mauel, Adela Brendemuehl, Madison Harbaugh, Tysen Laack, and Tyler Huss. Brynleigh Birling achieved the one-star level, Emily Hagman earned two stars, and Lily Reindl excelled with 36 activities, the four-star level.
The Leadership Award was received by Brynleigh Birling for her high moral character, humility, and respectfulness. Adela Brendemuehl received the Servant’s Heart Award for her acts of service and spiritual growth.
Carrie Krake, who will be taking on the role of reading specialist next year, was recognized for her many years of teaching. Former St. Martin student and second grade teacher, Savannah Doornick, was recognized and bid farewell as she will be moving with her family to another state. Students sang “The Blessing” in conclusion to the program.
